I'm trying to be a movie critic. At least an amateur. Please check out my reviews if you get time. I'll add more in the next few weeks. Here's my new one for Terminator Salvation:

"I was not excited when I heard that the newest Terminator movie was going to be directed by a man who calls himself McG. I had little hope for the newest movie, until I heard that Christian Bale was going to be playing John Conner. I, like most people, think that Bale is a very passionate actor. He takes his acting very seriously and always delivers, despite how he may act in "Real-Life."
I actually had no intention of watching the movie, but in a desperate attempt to get away from family, my sibling and I escaped to the movies. We quickly found ourselves in a less-than-packed theater, waiting for the lights to dim. after sitting through commercials and previews, the movie opened. I must say that I ate my words. Happily.
I honestly don't understand why people do not like this movie. The other movies, as my sibling so eloquently said, are "Chase Movies." This movie is a true war movie. While the other Terminators revolve around the characters running from a separate entity, this movie takes place almost entirely in the present. Which is something I found to be very refreshing. I can see how this movie would be disappointing if you went in with the mindset of a chase movie, but this is a true war movie.
The Special Effects in this movie were some of the best I've ever seen. The explosions and HK's (Hunter-Killers) were amazing. The Terminator bikes were a nice touch as well. The addition of the new character of Marcus Wright was nothing if not delightful. And, from a woman's point of view, this movie is packed to the brim with gorgeous men. Sam Worthington, who plays Marcus Wright is among the most beautiful men I've ever seen. Of course, Christian Bale as John Connor was also a treat.
Overall, I would say that this movie was very enjoyable. I would suggest going into this movie with an open mind. Forget that it's not a chase movie. Forget that the director is trying to have a name like a rapper. Just understand that this movie has moved into the 21st century. Live with it. Enjoy it."

Happy is he who still loves something he loved in the nursery: He has not been broken in two by time; he is not two men, but one, and he has saved not only his soul but his life. ~G.K. Chesterton

And that, folks, is why I still love Transformers.
